Welcome to Chelmsford Aid
This site provides information about 20 years of volunteering at various warehouses in Chelmsford, processing gift filled shoeboxes on behalf of "Operation Christmas Child".
Between 1997 and 2016, our team exported over 850,000 gift filled boxes to needy children in Eastern Europe and beyond.
Empty warehouses became increasingly hard to locate and costly to rent so the charity "Operation Christmas Child" switched to using church buildings after 2016.
Heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers who have helped us in Chelmsford warehouses over the years.

2018 - teams4u
In 2018, a group from the Chelmsford Core team travelled down to Loughton to see a presentation by teams4u.
Dave Cooke (Who had the origional shoebox idea), talked about their shoebox distributions and another team member (Ziz) focused on other teams4u projects.

2018 - UK-AID
In 2018, some of the Chelmsford Core team got involved with UK-AID - a local charity that sends out aid to help child victims from the Chernobyl disaster.
Three times a year, together with volunteers, the charity sends a convoy to the Revival Centre in Ukraine with Humanitarian Aid.
The journey begins in the UK in the county of Essex where they are based. The first step is to raise funds and collect aid. The journeys to the Revival Centre are 1750 miles each way, and take the drivers through France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Ukraine.
